Overt Body Armour

Our overt covers are generally made from durable, long lasting materials such as Cordura™, as they are worn over clothes are exposed to the elements. They are normally thicker and more hard wearing then covert vests, and we offer them in a range of styles suitable for a variety of uses.

Purchasing Body Armour

When purchasing body armour it is important to consider how and when you plan on wearing it, as overt covers are generally not as breathable and supple as their covert counterparts. The overt body armour is also heavier and more cumbersome than covert armour. It may give someone limited mobility and is ideal to be worn in situations where sudden movement is not required. The overt covers will allow for different types of ballistic plates to be used.

Ballistic Plates

The plates can easily be removed from the covers when someone is not in a highly dangerous area. The plates can be made from a few different materials so it is ideal for someone to choose the right plates for their needs. Someone should allow their body to get used to the weight of the overt body armour before they wear it into a dangerous environment so they can be used to the way it feels. 

All of the Kevlar® panels used in our bullet proof vests comply to the minimum specifications developed by the HOSDB or the NIJ. Each panel shows the protection levels they offer, and are fully safety checked by an armour expert before they are resold.
